Illumination at the lake of Xochimilco
Flangoo is a platform that offers stream digital short stories and novels, providing students with engaging tales in various languages such as spanish, english and german to enhance their language proficiency. I recently illustrated a new story set in Xochimilco, bringing different characters and scenes to life to create a more immersive reading experience.
The story follows Hailey and Connor on their travel in Mexico, seeking axolotls in Xochimilco Lake. Their encounter with a mysterious axolotI, Axel, sparks a journey involving ancient magic and three wishes granted by Xólotl. As they navigate greed, selflessness, and nature's wonders, they discover respect's power.
For the entire storyline, we developed 5 illustrated thumbnails to serve as the main artwork for each short episode. The backgrounds were designed to portray iconic landmarks found in Xochimilco, while also capturing the magical essence of the axolotl character.
